Eating

  • An enormous serve of bangers'n'mash and a nourishing pint of Kilkenny at the Town Hall one dismal Tuesday evening.
  • A "Chachi" - chianina meatball sandwich - another brioche donut and some amazing chocolate tart at Beatrix, which Essjay has reviewed.
  • A lazy Sunday lunch at The Crimean. The Polish hunter's stew (bigos) was just the thing to revive me after a chilly bike ride.
  • Generous piles of fried food with oodles of chillies and sichuan peppercorns at Sichuan House
  • Succulent suckling pig at Liberteene.
  • An array of bright, zesty flavours at Chin Chin, where the only problem was having to choose only some of the items from what looks to be a menu that is all hits, no filler.

Face your manga

OK, so there are lots of things I need to have done by the time this day is over.  Creating a highly flawed manga version of myself wasn’t even close to being on the list.  Still, it was fun, even if I made some choices that I was then unable to figure out the “undo” for (the goth lipstick and alien logo, for ex).

  • I found that site from someone else at some point on the weekend! It was a great way to waste fifteen minutes (especially since they were fifteen minutes I should have been doing English work), but the wizard thing was extremely flawed! I could not find an eye colour which looked anything like my eye colour. What kind of tool offers GREEN-grey as a choice and not BLUE-grey? The clothes also left a lot to be desired. I think I gave myself a tie (black and red, striped) or something to jazz it up, because otherwise it was pretty boring.

In case you are now curious as to what I wasted fifteen minutes on: here it is. It’s nothing incredibly exciting, though.
