Discovering
(Or rediscovering) Hamlet - Nicki Greenberg's beautiful new version, thanks to the fabulous Snarkattack, who invited me along to see Nicki talk about the creative process behind the book.
Eating
- An enormous serve of bangers'n'mash and a nourishing pint of Kilkenny at the Town Hall one dismal Tuesday evening.
- A "Chachi" - chianina meatball sandwich - another brioche donut and some amazing chocolate tart at Beatrix, which Essjay has reviewed.
- A lazy Sunday lunch at The Crimean. The Polish hunter's stew (bigos) was just the thing to revive me after a chilly bike ride.
- Generous piles of fried food with oodles of chillies and sichuan peppercorns at Sichuan House
- Succulent suckling pig at Liberteene.
- An array of bright, zesty flavours at Chin Chin, where the only problem was having to choose only some of the items from what looks to be a menu that is all hits, no filler.
What got me was the manky bunch of lillies Ricky Schroder sent his wife. It looked like something you would pick up from your local 7/11. If you are going to a grand romantic gesture that is going to be seen by a couple of million worldwide, it is a good thing to spend some cash.
Anyway thank christ she is gone. Seriously the only people who have heard of Ricky are probably are in their thirties and remember when he graced the cover of Tiger Beat magazine.
Eddie is so in the cult of Martha Stewart it is scary. He seriously needs to be deprogrammed.
Her furniture is nice but bland, it does not make a statement.
I must admit a swarkovski light is now on my wish list.
If Preston wins this year’s title I will be pissed.
Go Nathan. Is it me or does he look older than 30?
OMG – Tiger Beat! Yay!
