Welcome to my new home! I’ve bitten the bullet and registered a domain, and set aside a day to get all of my old blog moved here. It’s only taken an hour so far, which is much less time than I’d anticipated. There are still metaphorical boxes to be unpacked and I’m sure I’ll do some tweaking to the layout in the future (please don’t hold me to that, though… I’ve said it before and have merely changed WordPress themes!), but it’s already starting to feel like home.
I’ll keep posting at the old blog for a while, but won’t do so indefinitely.

Congratulations. Love the theme, very clean and elegant, will change the link address on my blog.
I am in awe of your cleverness. As you know I had to pay someone to do this for me.
But tweaking layouts is such fun! I know I always jump with glee when I realise I get to bash out some more code in an attempt to make my layout work! Exciting times!
…no, actually, it’s only fun when everything works out for me on the first attempt. I swear CSS works in some counter-intuitive ways at times. A lot of times. It can be satisfying when I triumph over its strange ways to make the stylesheet do what I want, though.
Anyway, I’m glad the move worked out so smoothly. That must be reassuring.
Congratulations on the move. I love the rolling twittering too.
Thanks for the feedback, people! Really, the only reason I decided to go for my own domain was so that I could get WP plugins, in particular the Cumulus 3D tag cloud. I’ve uploaded it but can’t seem to make it work. Still, it’s been a lot of fun playing around with the new site.
Glad you like the scrolling Twitter, TMB – wasn’t sure whether it was too distracting…
RR – it’s basically the same theme as my old blog so I’m not going to change my Twitter profile to read “IT guru” any time soon!
Jess – I don’t have your facility for CSS and tweaking, I fear. If it’s not off-the-rack, it’s not happening. Who knows, maybe one day I’ll develop some skills. Just as I was about to get it all brought over, I remembered you losing a lot of one of your blogs when upgrading, so I did almost get cold feet!
