It’s hot.
Dayum hot.
The kind of heat where you look at the running time of a movie to decide whether it’s worth your money.
The kind of day where Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol seems like a wise investment.
Then you leave the cinema. You spend as long as you can in a bar, but – sooner or later – you have to come home. And you want to watch some chilly movies.

Ice Castles, the Titanic just for the big iceberg, and search on YouTube for old winter olympics footage. Or there must be a webcam in one of the ski resorts in the Northern Hemisphere now.
Oh, good suggestions! You’ve also reminded me of the figure skating comedy but I can’t remember what it was called… I think it had Owen Wilson in it, but his IMDB page isn’t helping me out. Aaaargh!
You must be referring to the masterpiece that is Blades of Glory – it starred Will Ferrell.
Great list. Fargo would be my first thought too.
Yes! Blades of Glory! Thanks, Jo.
Agreed. Fargo is the first in my list. I absolutely love this movie to death, it is the greatest masterpiece ever and perfect in every aspect.
